1. Accepting these terms

By using the Philippine Laws platform at phlaws.cloud or the Philippine Laws mobile app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not use the platform. They apply to everyone who uses it, with or without an account.

The platform is operated by an individual based in the Philippines, reachable at the address in section 11.

2. The legal texts: yours to use

The statutes, decrees, issuances and Supreme Court decisions reproduced here are official government works. Under section 176 of the Intellectual Property Code, no copyright subsists in them. This platform does not own them and claims no rights over them.

Read, copy, download, quote, print and redistribute them freely. You do not need permission and you do not need to credit this site.

They are reproduced from public sources, principally the Supreme Court E-Library. Transcription and extraction can introduce errors. For any purpose where it matters — a filing, an exam answer, advice to a client — check the text against the official publication. This platform does not certify any text as a true copy.

3. Everything written around them

Digests, scenario answers, explainers, lessons, myth cards, quiz questions, flashcards, timelines and the categorisation of documents are this platform’s own work, and they are study material rather than statements of the law.

• Much of it is machine-drafted. The Bar questions and flashcards are generated by a language model. Pages built that way are labelled where they appear, and the Bar drill pages ask you to acknowledge it before you can use them.
• No lawyer reviews it. The explanatory material is written and checked by the platform’s own team against the law it cites, to the best of their knowledge. It is not reviewed or signed off by a member of the Bar, and each page says so. Check the cited text yourself before you rely on it.
• The law moves. A digest or explainer is accurate as at the date it was written, and no undertaking is given that it is kept current with later legislation or jurisprudence.

You may quote this material for personal study and cite it. You may not republish it in bulk, or present it as your own, or as reviewed or authoritative when the page says it is not. The platform’s software, design, search index and compilation remain its own.

4. No legal advice, and no lawyer-client relationship

Nothing on this platform is legal advice, and nothing on it creates a lawyer-client relationship between you and the operator or anyone who has contributed to it. No confidential relationship arises from using the site, writing to the address below, or entering anything into any box on it.

The scenario pages under /ask, the calculators and the guides describe how a rule generally works. They do not know your facts, and the result in a real case turns on facts. Consult a lawyer, or the Public Attorney’s Office if you cannot afford one, before acting on anything you read here.

5. Accounts

Most of the platform works without an account. Signing in is through Google, so there is no password here to set or to lose; keeping your Google account secure is your responsibility, and anything done through a signed-in session is treated as done by you.

One account per person. An account may be suspended or closed for breaching section 6. You may delete your account at any time, and doing so removes the material described in the Privacy Policy.

6. What you may not do

• Scrape or download in bulk in a way that degrades the service for other people. If you want the corpus in bulk, write and ask — the underlying documents are public and there is no reason to fight over them.
• Circumvent rate limits, quotas or the account system, including by creating accounts or resetting device identifiers to take a free trial more than once.
• Probe, attack or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the platform or to other users’ data.
• Use the AI features to generate material you then present as reviewed legal advice, or feed them another person’s confidential information.
• Upload or store anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to put there.

7. Subscriptions

Some features may be offered on subscription through an app store. Payment, renewal, refunds and cancellation are handled by that store under its own terms, and this platform never sees your card details. A subscription renews until you cancel it in the store. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not refund the period already paid for, except where the store’s policy or the Consumer Act provides otherwise.

Where a free trial is offered, it is one per device, and the device identifier that enforces that is described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Availability

The platform is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be available, uninterrupted, complete or free of error. Features may change or be withdrawn. The corpus is incomplete in places — some years are only partly digitised — and the absence of a document here does not mean it does not exist.

9. Limits on liability

To the fullest extent Philippine law allows, the operator is not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform, including loss of data, loss of profit, or any decision taken or not taken in reliance on anything read here.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for wilful misconduct, or for anything that by law cannot be limited. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid for the platform in the twelve months before the claim arose, which for most users is nothing.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising from them or from your use of the platform is submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the proper courts of the Philippines.

If a court finds any part of these terms unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

11. Changes, and how to reach us

These terms may be revised. When they are, the date at the top of this page changes. Continuing to use the platform after that date means the revised terms apply; if you do not accept them, stop using it and delete your account.

Errors in a reproduced text are worth reporting to the same address. They get fixed.
