REPUBLIC ACT NO. 12260 AN ACT ESTABLISHING IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN MIGUEL, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL DUR, A DISTRICT HOSPITAL TO BE KNOWN AS THE ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR SECOND DISTRICT HOSPITAL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR September 05, 2025

AN ACT ESTABLISHING IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF SAN MIGUEL, PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA DEL DUR, A DISTRICT HOSPITAL TO BE KNOWN AS THE ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR SECOND DISTRICT HOSPITAL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:   

SECTION 1. There shall be established in the Municipality of San Miguel, Province of Zamboanga del Sur, a district hospital to be known as the Zamboanga del Sur Second District Hospital, which shall be under the direct control and supervision of the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Sur.  

SEC. 2. The Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Sur shall manage the Zamboanga del Sur Second District Hospital, and prepare, in consultation with the Department of Health, a hospital development plan that aligned with the Philippine Health Facility Development Plan. Any future increase in bed capacity, healthcare facilities, service capability, and human resource complement shall be based on the hospital development plan.   

SEC. 3. The Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Sur shall provide the necessary funds for the establishment, maintenance, and other operating expenses of the Zamboanga del Sur Second District Hospital. The Secretary of Health shall include in the Department's subsidy program, support for the capital outlay requirements of the hospital.   

SEC. 4. If any provision of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.   

SEC. 5. All laws, executive orders, issuances, and rules and regulations inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.   

SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in theOfficial Gazetteor in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives on November 12, 2024, amended by the Senate of the Philippines on June 9, 2025, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on June 10, 2025.
