REPUBLIC ACT NO. 12211 AN ACT ESTABLISHING IN THE CITY OF LUCENA, PROVINCE OF QUEZON, A GENERAL HOSPITAL TO BE KNOWN AS THE LUCENA HOSPITAL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR May 21, 2025

AN ACT ESTABLISHING IN THE CITY OF LUCENA, PROVINCE OF QUEZON, A GENERAL HOSPITAL TO BE KNOWN AS THE LUCENA HOSPITAL, AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. There shall be established in the City of Lucena, Province of Quezon, a Level I general hospital, with a capacity of one hundred (100) beds, to be known as the Lucena City Hospital, which shall be under the direct control and supervision of the Department of Health (DOH).

SEC. 2. To ensure the provision of integrated and efficient healthcare services in the Province of Quezon, the Lucena City Hospital shall consult and coordinate with the Provincial Government of Quezon in the formulation and implementation of its hospital development plan. 

SEC. 3. The Secretary of Health shall immediately include in the Department's program the implementation of this Act, the funding of which shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

SEC. 4. If any provision or part of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.

SEC. 5. All other laws, executive orders, issuances, rules and regulations inconsistent with  this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.  

SEC. 6. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in theOfficial Gazetteor in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives on May 29, 2023, amended by the Senate of the Philippines on December 16, 2024, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on January 28, 2025.
