REPUBLIC ACT NO. 12207 AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE AMAI PAKPAK MEDICAL CENTER IN THE CITY OF MARAWI, PROVINCE OF LANAO DEL SUR FROM FOUR HUNDRED (400) TO EIGHT HUNDRED (800) BEDS AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR May 08, 2025

AN ACT INCREASING THE BED CAPACITY OF THE AMAI PAKPAK MEDICAL CENTER IN THE CITY OF MARAWI, PROVINCE OF LANAO DEL SUR FROM FOUR HUNDRED (400) TO EIGHT HUNDRED (800) BEDS AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:  

SECTION 1. The authorized bed capacity of the Amai Pakpak Medical Center (APMC) in the City of Marawi, Province of Lanao del Sur, shall be increased from four hundred (400) to eight hundred (800) beds.  

SEC. 2. The existing professional healthcare services and facilities of the APMC are hereby upgraded to conform with and commensurate to the increase in bed capacity as provided in Section 1 hereof.  

SEC. 3. The existing workforce of the APMC, which include doctors, nurses, and support personnel, shall be increased correspondingly.  

SEC. 4. The Secretary of Health shall, after consultation with the Medical Center Chief of the APMC, and in coordination with the Secretary of the Department of Budget and Management and the Chairperson of the Civil Service Commission, determine the additional new positions to be created.  

SEC. 5. The Secretary of Health shall immediately include in the Department's program the implementation of this Act, the funding of which shall be included in the General Appropriations Act. 

SEC. 6. If any provision of this Act is declared unconstitutional, the remaining parts or provisions not affected shall remain in full force and effect.  

SEC. 7. All other laws, executive orders, issuances, rules and regulations inconsistent with  this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.  

SEC. 8. This Act shall take effect after fifteen (15) days following the completion of its publication in theOfficial Gazetteor in a newspaper of general circulation.

This Act, which is originated in the House of Representatives, was passed by the House of Representatives on May 15, 2024, amended by the Senate of the Philippines on February 3, 2025, and which amendments were concurred in by the House of Representatives on February 4, 2025.
