REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8843 AN ACT CONVERTING THE RAJA SOLIMAN HIGH SCHOOL IN THE THIRD DISTRICT OF MANILA INTO A NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL TO BE KNOWN AS THE RAJA SOLIMAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS THEREFOR August 22, 2000

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of thePhilippinesin Congress assembled:

SECTION 1.TheRajaSolimanHigh Schoolin the ThirdDistrict of Manila is hereby converted into a national science and technology high school to be known as the RajaSolimanScience andTechnologyHigh School.

SEC.2.The Department of Education, Culture and Sportsshall issue such rules and regulations as may be necessary tocarry out the purpose of this Act.

SEC.3.The RajaSolimanScience andTechnologyHighSchoolshall offer secondary, vocational and technological coursesand a skills training program.

SEC.4.All personnel, records, assets and liabilities of theRajaSolimanHigh Schoolare hereby transferred to and absorbed by the RajaSolimanScience andTechnologyHigh School.

SEC. 5.The amount necessary for the initial implementationof this Act shall be charged against the current year'sappropriations of theRajaSolimanHigh School. Thereafter, suchsums as may be necessary for the continuous operation andmaintenance of the RajaSolimanScience andTechnologyHighSchoolshall be included in the annual General AppropriationsAct.

SEC.6.This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
