AN ACT STANDARDIZING THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN RANKING OFFICIALS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION ONE OF REPUBLIC ACT NUMBERED FORTY-ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-ONE, AS AMENDED BY REPUBLIC ACT FIFTY HUNDRED FORTY-NINE.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1.  Section one of Republic Act Numbered Forty-one hundred fifty-one is hereby further amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 1. Provisions of the existing laws to the contrary notwithstanding, the minimum salaries of the Directors, Assistant Directors, Administrative Officers, Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs of Divisions and other ranking officials in the General Offices of the Bureau of Public Schools, Bureau of Vocational Education, Bureau of Private Schools, the National Library, the Institute of National Language, the National Museum, the National Historical Commission, the State Scholarships Council, the Board of National Education and the Secretary of Education are hereby fixed as follows:

"(a) Director—P14,400 to P17,400per annum.
"(b) Assistant Director—P12,000 to P16,800per annum
"(c) Administrative Officer II to VI—P10,800 to P16,200per annum
"(d) Secretary, Board of National Education, (with the rank of Undersecretary)—P16,200per annum
"(e) Chief of Division, Chief Educational Planning Analyst, Chief Legal Officer, Personnel Officer IV or Chief Educational Supervisor, Executive Secretary, State Scholarships Council—P15,600per annum
"(f) Assistant Chief of Division, and Assistant Chief Educational Planning Analyst—P15,000per annum
"(g) Supervising Educational Specialist II, Teacher Education Specialist II, Chief Educational Supervisor I, and Education Executive Assistant— P13,800per annum
"(h)  Senior Educational Planning Analyst, Private School Special Consultant, Supervising Educational Specialist I, Supervising Curriculum Coordinator, Teacher Education Specialist I, Supervising Teacher Credentials Evaluator, and Educational Planning Analyst—P12,600per annum
"(i) School Projects Coordinator, Senior Executive Assistant, Secretary, Board of Textbooks, Executive Assistant, and Medical Supervisor II—P11,400per annum
"(j) Chief Dental Service Officer, Budget Officer III, Legal Officer III, and Senior Legal Officer— P10,200per annum
"(k) Supervising Information Officer, Legal Officer II. Legal Officer I, Technical Property Inspector, Budget Officer I, Senior Training Officer, Chief Records Unit, Personnel Officer I, and Cashier III—P8,400per annum."The terms 'Chief of Division and Assistant Chief of Division as used in sub-sections (e) and (f) hereof shall include all officials holding such positions, whether in the promotional, in the administrative or in the service divisions in the Bureaus and Offices in the Department of Education and are entitled to the salaries fixed in the said sub-sections."
SEC. 2. All incumbent officials occupying positions affected by this Act at the time of its effectivity shall receive the salary increases herein provided without the necessity of any new appointment.
SEC. 3. The beneficiaries of the salary increases provided for in this Act are not precluded from receiving general salary adjustments that may be provided for government officials and employees in future General Appropriations Acts.SEC. 4. Such sums as are necessary to implement this Act for the fiscal year ending June thirty, nineteen hundred and seventy-two are hereby authorized to be appropriated from any savings among the bureaus and offices mentioned in Section one hereof.  Thereafter, the necessary sums for the purpose shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.SEC. 5.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 1971.
