AN ACT FURTHER AMENDING SECTION SIXTEEN HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FOUR OF THE REVISED ADMINISTRATIVE CODE.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Section sixteen hundred and seventy-four of the Revised Administrative Code, as amended, is further amended so as to read as follows:
"SEC. 1674.Assistant provincial fiscals.—In the following provinces there shall be assistant provincial fiscals in such numbers and with such salaries as are hereinafter provided:
"Bohol, three assistant provincial fiscals, one at three thousand pesos, another at two thousand eight hundred pesos and the third one at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"Cagayan, two assistant provincial fiscals, three thousand pesos and two thousand four hundred pesos, respectively,per annum;
"Cotabato, two assistant provincial fiscals at two thousand eight hundred pesosper annumeach;
"Ilocos Norte, two assistant provincial fiscals at two thousand eight hundred pesosper annumeach;
"Ilocos Sur, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand eight hundred pesos per annum, and one at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
Isabela, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"La Union, two assistant provincial fiscals, one at two thousand eight hundred pesos per annum, and one at two I thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"Mountain Province, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand eight hundred pesosper annum;
"Pangasinan, five assistant provincial fiscals, one at three I thousand pesos, two at two thousand eight hundred pesos I each, and the last two at two thousand four hundred pesosper annumeach;
"Nueva Ecija, four assistant provincial fiscals at three I thousand pesos and two thousand eight hundred pesos, respectively, and the last two at two thousand four hundred  pesosper annumeach;
"Nueva Vizcaya, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"Pampanga, two assistant provincial fiscals at three thousand pesos per annum each and two at two thousand eight hundred pesos eachper annum;
"Bulacan, three assistant provincial fiscals, one at three I thousand pesos and two at two thousand eight hundred pesos each, respectively,per annum;
"Tarlac, three assistant provincial fiscals at three thousand pesosper annumeach;
"Albay, three assistant provincial fiscals at three thousand pesosper annumeach;
"Oriental Negros, two assistant provincial fiscals at two thousand eight hundred pesos eachper annum;
"Rizal, six assistant provincial fiscals, one at three thousand pesos, another at two thousand eight hundred pesos, respectively, and the last four at two thousand four hundred pesosper annumeach;
"Samar, three assistant provincial fiscals, one at three thousand pesos per annum and two at two thousand eight hundred pesos eachper annum;
"Laguna, two assistant provincial fiscals at three thousand pesos eachper annum;
"Lanao, two assistant provincial fiscals, one at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum; and the other at two thousand eight hundred pesosper annum;
"Batangas, three assistant provincial fiscals, two at three thousand pesos eachper annumand one at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"Cavite, two assistant provincial fiscals at three thousand pesos eachper annum;
"Quezon, three assistant provincial fiscals, one at three thousand pesos and two at two thousand four hundred pesos, respectively,per annum;
"Mindoro, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand eight hundred pesosper annum;
"Sorsogon, two assistant provincial fiscals at two thousand four hundred pesos eachper annum;
"Antique, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"Capiz, two assistant provincial fiscals at three thousand pesosper annumeach;
"Iloilo, five assistant provincial fiscals, one at three thousand pesos, two at two thousand eight hundred pesos each, and two at two thousand four, hundred pesos eachper annum:Provided, however,That the two positions of special attorneys now existing in the office of the provincial fiscal of said province are hereby abolished;
"Occidental Negros, five assistant provincial fiscals, one at three thousand pesos, two at two thousand eight hundred pesos each, and two at two thousand four hundred pesosper annumeach;
"Leyte, six assistant provincial fiscals, one at three thousand pesos, two at two thousand eight hundred pesos each, and three at two thousand four hundred pesosper annumeach;
"Cebu, seven assistant provincial fiscals, one at three thousand pesos, and six at two thousand eight hundred Pesos eachper annum;
"Oriental Misamis, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"Occidental Misamis, one assistant provincial fiscal at thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
“Surigao, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand hundred pesosper annum;
"Camarines Sur, two assistant provincial fiscals, one at two thousand four hundred pesos per annum and one at two thousand pesosper annum;
"Camarines Norte, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"Abra, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand pesosper annum;
"Masbate, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"Agusan, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"Zamboanga, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum; and
"Sulu, one assistant provincial fiscal at two thousand four hundred pesosper annum;
"These officers shall be appointed by the President of the Philippines with the consent of the Commission on Appointments of the Congress of the Philippines, and their salaries shall be paid by the provinces concerned.  The salary of the assistant provincial fiscal shall be included in the annual appropriation of the province in the same manner as the salary of the provincial fiscal.  To be eligible foil appointment to this position, a person must be a citizen oil the Philippines who has been duly admitted to practice in the court of said Islands, and has been in actual practice for at least five years, prior to his appointment."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.Approved, June 16, 1948.
