PROCLAMATION NO. 985 DECLARING FRIDAY, 31 JULY 2020, A REGULAR HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY, IN OBSERVANCE OF EID'L ADHA (FEAST OFSACRIFICE) July 29, 2020

WHEREAS,Eid'l Adhaor Feast of Sacrifice is one of the two greatest feasts of Islam;

WHEREAS,Republic Act No. 9849 provides thatEid'l Adhashall be observe as a regular holiday;

WHEREAS,the national Commission on Muslim Filipinos has recommended that 31 July 2020,Friday,be declared a national holiday, in observance ofEid'l Adha; and

WHEREAS,the observance ofEid'l Adhashall be subject to existing community quarantine and social distancing measures;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE,President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, 31 July 2020, a regular holiday throughout the country, in observance ofEid'l Adha.
