PROCLAMATION NO. 680 DECLARING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2013 AS “CIVIL ENGINEERING MONTH” November 05, 2013

WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE) is an organization composed of more than 74,000 registered civil engineer-members in 96 chapters and some 39,668 civil engineering student-members in 179 student chapters throughout the country;

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the importance of the civil engineering profession and highlight its role in nation-building; and

WHEREAS, the PICE will celebrate the “Civil Engineering Month” in conjunction with their 39th National Convention on 07-09 November 2013 at the SMX Convention Center, Lanang, Davao City.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO, III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of November 2013 as “Civil Engineering Month.”

I call upon all civil engineers and students to give the observance of the “Civil Engineering Month” their full support.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
