REVISION OF THE SUBJECTS AND WEIGHTS IN THE PRACTICAL LICENSURE EXAMINATION FOR OPTOMETRIST
I
Ophthalmic Examination
A. Neutralization 40% B. Worksheet 20% C. 1. Grinding } 2. Benchwork} 40%
II
Objective Examination
A. Ophthalmology 20% B. Retinoscopy 20% C. Perimetry/Tangent Screen 10% D. Autorefractometer 10% E. Biomicroscopy 20% F. Ophthalmometry 20%

Subjective Examination
A. Preliminary Examination 28% B. Subjective Testing 30% C. Phorometric Tests 30% D. Analysis and Prescription 12% E. Specialty Areas 15%
WHEREAS, to provide a well-balanced distribution of the weights of the subjects and to keep abreast of the latest trend in the profession brought about by modernization, advancement, and globalization, it behooves the Board to overhaul, revise or modify the foregoing subjects; and
WHEREAS, to carry out the provision on Licensure Examinations for optometrists: Sections 11, 12, 13 and 14, of R.A. 1998, otherwise known as "An Act to Regulate the Practice of Optometry in the Philippines" the Board is empowered under Sec. 10 of the said law to prescribe and issue the appropriate rules and guidelines,
NOW, THEREFORE, the Board RESOLVES, as it is hereby RESOLVES, to modify or revise the subjects and the weights of the subjects in the Practical Licensure Examinations for Optometrists, accordingly, laying down these subjects with their weights for the July 1995 Optometry Licensure Examination (Practical) and subsequent schedules.

II
Objective Examination
A. Ophthalmology 25% B. Retinoscopy 25% C. Biomicroscopy 25% D. Ophthalmometry/Keratometry 25%

Subjective Examination
A. Preliminary Examination 20% B. Subjective Testing 20% C. Phorometric Tests 20% D. Analysis and Prescription 20% E. Specialty Areas 20%
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that, upon approval hereof by the Commission, this Resolution shall become effective after fifteen (15) days following its publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation, whichever is earlier.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that this Resolution be disseminated through the schools offering the course of Optometry to all concerned.
