ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 269 CREATING A COMMITTEE TO COORDINATE OFFICIAL ACTS AND OBSERVANCES IN CONNECTION WITH THE FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THE LATE CORAZON C. AQUINO, FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES August 01, 2009

WHEREAS, Corazon C. Aquino, former President of the Philippines, died on August 1, 2009, to the deep sorrow and anguish of the Filipino people;

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that appropriate official acts and observances be carried out in connection with the funeral arrangements for the former President, commensurate with the people’s love and respect for her;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO,President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby create an Committee on the Funeral of the Late President Corazon C. Aquino, composed of the following officials or their duly-designated acting representatives:

The Executive Secretary	Chairman
The Secretary of Foreign Affairs	Member
The Secretary of National Defense	Member
The Secretary of the Interior and Local Government	Member

In addition, representatives duly designated by the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court, as well as of the family of the late President, are invited as Members.

The Committee is hereby empowered to create such sub-committees as may be necessary to assist it in the performance of its functions.
